There's nothing more amusing than seeing the government not get its way, and then sitting back and watching the attempt at a hissy fit.
Denied. The prosecution cannot seek the death penalty against Zacarias Moussaoui. This stems out of the prosecutions failure to follow the judge's previous orders to allow the defense to interview witnesses that are vital to the case.
Sanctions. Ya gotta love them.

Every story has a beginning, or in Angel's case, a second beginning. Parallel's anyone? Blond damsel in distress runs away from blood sucking fiend only to be rescued by a blood sucking fiend with a double entendre and an indemnification contract to boot. Nice touch, Joss. One thing though.
The hair has got to go!!!! Someone grab some shears and give my boy Boreanaz a haircut. He's a vampire, not an aging human who looks like he's nearing forty. It was utterly distracting.
New Characters
Knox Loved him as a vampire in Buffy and I'm hoping he'll get a chance to shine on this series. I already like the tension he's managed to create just by being Fred's assistant. Wesley isn't too keen on it obviously, and it's apparent that he still wants her but we knew that. Who will she hook up with this season? I'm taking bets...
Eve I think she qualifies as the next Scrappy Doo that deserves to die painfully and horribly. I admit I like the way she was introduced. It was an interesting twist on the whole 'Eve' tale, and you just have to love Joss and co's sense of humor, but I have a feeling she is going to become annoying fairly quick. They need to bring Lilah back.
Harmony She doesn't qualify as new but she is new to the series, and I loved her introduction. Afterall she's just an undead girl trying to make her way in the city. She's the role Cordelia used to play, and it never hurts to have a bit of comic relief injected into the show. Harmony is a good character for this, and I liked how they used her to explain Cordy's whereabouts. Unfortunately, it doesn't mean we'll know if Cordy will ever return from her coma.
Spike "Blondie Bear." My god next week cannot come soon enough. That's all I really have to say between pants and sighs and the laughter that erupted after that line. Angel and Spike duking it out. Only one word can describe it. Sweet.
The story
I admit I have my reservations. I'm not to fond of this new direction Joss is taking his characters. I prefered the hotel or even the small office setting with just a small band of friends helping the helpless. Now it's full scale and they aren't helping the helpless necessarily. You could say, well this is the twist, but it risks on being to open and uninvolved. I don't know. I don't want there to be that many new characters and too many storylines. I don't want the characters that we know and love to change for the sake of gratifying some stupid network.
That's not to say Gunn's change was uncharacteristic. It was, and boy was he ubercool and slick as a lawyer. Praise to my people. It makes you wonder what kind of consequences he'll be facing in the future for the knowledge he posesses.

Here's another broken record. Global music sales are down and p2ps are the obvious targets of finger pointing. What the industry leaders have also failed to point out are that the fall in sales are due in part to the lousy music out there and a boycott that has been around for over a year.
No RIAA people, we don't think Britney Spears is as classy as U2. Not everyone wants to hear trash, spend ridiculous amounts of money on trash, or allow their children to be brought up by trash.

Ouch. That infamous couple, who were arrested in a New York Cathedral after calling into a radio show, are no longer such. He has died of a heart attack.
Out of respect for the dead I'll refrain from making any sarcastic remarks, but it's right there. Poor guy.

The mailing list is fixed.
There is new reading material on blackglass.org and a contest. I'd suggest you check it out.
Where will you be tomorrow? Where will I be? Glued to the tv, writing my review and preparing for the return of Spike, but more importantly enjoying the season premiere of Angel. Thank God!!!!

I'm absolutely torn. Next month is October and in three or four weeks time I will have to fork over an unbelieveable amount of money over to pay for hosting for blackglass.org for yet another year. This is of course if I stay with site5. I've been with them for two years, and I can't really complain. Sure, cgi screws up all the time, and I've had to actually switch to php scripts which are actually quite sweet but rather intimidating to install. The tech support does not treat you like an idiot and that is a plus, and they have a forum. Uptime is good. I just can't really afford it, and even though someone said she'd help me out for a few months if I did use the Visa, I hate owing money.

Then there's endore. It has the sweetest package I have ever seen, and the cheapest. A gig for $110. But then the phrase, "You get what you paid for," creeps into my head and this is why I can't make up my mind. Granted, I don't need all the bandwidth or the gig, or actually who am I kidding. I like the security. I would love to host more people and let them have more space. I'd like to make the domain more popular again.
N. and I already have a domain hosted with endore on their unix servers. The problem is we haven't used it enough to really tell if they're a good service. People who have used the service have used the Windows servers and they have raved. Great. Unix is different. I'll always be a Unix/Linux girl. They're using a new control panel that can tell me the disk usage for each directory. I almost went nuts when I saw that. That's the only thing Site5 does not have which endore does have. That and endore's tech support is iffy. Then again I did ask a newbie question, but it's not like they made it straight foward on the site. N. coldn't figure it out either, so if neither of us could then something must have been wrong.
I hate change. It comes down to that. But what do you do? My roommate says that I should ask my hostees for help because the whole thing behind my hosting them is almost strange without some form of compensation on their part. When I see it from her point of view I can understand, except it was my choice not to do that. It won't stop me of course from asking for the occasional donation because the truth of the matter is the domain does have a purpose and some of them in the past didn't care (still don't), and if they wanted to stay they could donate. Some who did care did donate, and I felt so guilty and yet so grateful. (Thank you, J!!!!) Then of course there is the fact that I can ask and they can laugh and pretty much say "fuck you" and "see ya," and in return I will say, "good riddance." I have a terrible complex. And the thing is, even if I were making money right now I'd still have the same dilema. People change servers all the time. See, it's not just about the money. I just don't like change.

I've been following this case for months, and at first I thought the husband had every right to decide for his wife. The articles back then weren't very informative about the situation and only said that this was her wish, she didn't want to live like this. I originally read this on Ragged Edge, which doesn't keep quiet about these matters.
Now, I think the best thing to do is to appoint a guardian. The husband's actions are just too peculiar. The article doesn't mention it, but others do, and if some doctors have said that she can be rehabilitated. For crying out loud I've seen footage on tv where it seems that she is responsive and in no way does that mean vegitative state to me. Something has to be done.

South Bend and Salt Lake City will not air Coupling due to its lack of morals among a group of thirtysomethings. Apparently they're supposed to be saints.
I just love cities that try to shelter their inhabitants from such degrading material. Afterall there's always NYPD Blue and CSI.

I need a new layout. All my sites need new layouts. When angels weep needs a new layout. Desperatly. It lists me as a second year law student when I already graduated. I also have tons of writings to put up. It needs a new layout. Damn the muse needs a new layout. My mouse needs to move on its own and magically create beautiful graphics that stun the senses and make the unsuspecting visitors drool with envy. I agree with Nik. Layouts should make themselves.
Alas, if life were only that easy.
Non-graphic updates to the blog will be made today. I actually already fixed the layout for individual entries. I just never want to see green again. I'm thinking of a Greek theme next, but I never actually do what I think. It never happens that way.
I also have to write a challenge between now and Wednsday. Pulling teeth just doesn't describe it.

Oh look, the RIAA strikes again. IMesh is their new target, and I bet they'll be as succesful as they were with Kazaa. Afterall, this report states that the recording industry's efforts have led to a 5 percent decrease in file-sharing. They should be so proud of themselves.
In the meantime thanks to this article millions of file-sharers have just been introduced to a new way of getting their music. Such sweet irony.
